Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says the department completed two buy/bust transactions on Sunday, making a total of five arrests.
In the first case, Centralia Police Investigators completed a prearranged drug transaction of methamphetamine from 25-year-old Katlynn Hoffman of Centralia and 41-year-old Robert Starr of Irvington. The two allegedly delivered 2.1 grams of field-tested positive methamphetamine to a location on West Seventh Street. Shortly after making the delivery, officers made a traffic stop of their vehicle and took them into custody.
A search of the vehicle resulted in another 3.1-grams of suspected meth being located as well as evidence tying Star to a prior Centralia burglary. Both were taken to the Clinton County Jail for alleged delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. Starr was also arrested for possession of stolen property.
In the second case, investigators set up a buy/bust for suspect heroin/fentanyl in the 300 block of North Poplar utilizing a confidential informant. 27-year-old Brandi Pierce of Centralia arrived on the scene and made contact with the confidential source and delivered two suspected caplets of fentanyl. Pierce was immediately taken into custody and was allegedly found to be in possession of a total of 43 caplets of suspected fentanyl.
Two others who arrived on the scene during the buy/bust were also arrested. 22-year-old Brinesha Hall of Centralia was arrested after allegedly being found in possession of a syringe loaded with a suspected controlled substance. Hall had recently been involved in a prior buy/bust on February 23rd where she was arrested for delivery of suspected fentanyl. The second person, 24-year-old Jacob White of Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding Clinton County warrant.
Pierce was taken to the Marion County Jail. Hall was given a notice to appear on the possession charge. White was taken to the Clinton County Jail at Carlyle on the outstanding warrant.
Dodson says the buy/bust transactions are part of their continued effort to combat drug trafficking targeting street-level dealers.
