Here are the results of the contested township races in Marion County:
Democrat Debbie Young won the race for Centralia Township Supervisor over Republican Timothy McCance. Young has 727 votes to McCance’s 438.
All three Democrats on the ballot for Centralia Township trustee positions also won. Patti Hahn garnered 756 votes, Patty Williams 714, and Gary Joe Sanders 585 votes. Republican Jeff Schwartz won the other seat with 581 votes. Bill Nitz finished with 559 votes and Adam Smith finished with 535 votes and did not win a seat.
In Salem Township, the Democrats held onto one trustee seat. Connie Graham finished with 419 votes. Republicans Jim Purcell with 636 votes, Marvin Owens with 498 votes, and James Cripps Junior with 491 votes won the other three seats. Not winning seats were Republican Wayne Walker who finished with 402 votes and James Bryant who finished with 400 votes.
Republicans took all four of the available Foster Township Trustee seats. Rob Jones led with 51 votes, Win Headley followed with 46, Kevin Barry had 44, Gerrett Neilson had 34, and Democrat Larry Shanafelt finished last with 26.
Tina Sager won Haines Township clerk, defeating Debra Koehler 73 votes to 44.
Zackary Paul won the race for Haines Township highway commissioner, with 62 votes defeating Ricky Boxx’s 43 and Howard Phillips’ 22.
Republicans swept the race for Omega Township trustees. The seats go to Republicans Todd Hogan with 66 votes, Gala Rose with 59, Matthew Murfin with 57, and Jaime Butts with 56. Democrats finished with 34 votes for Doug Wilcoxen, 30 for Jordan Hanks, and 22 for Steven Brown.
Republicans took the four available trustee seats in Raccoon Township. Lonnie McDaneld had 72 votes, Travis Sanders 67, Brad Hester 63, and Jerry Gaston 61. Democrat Becki Parrett received 23 votes, and Thomas Crossland received 11.
For Stevenson Township, Republican Rick Morgan led the race with 94 votes. Ian Stroud followed with 73. Democrat Dale Eddings had 68 votes, and Republican Chase Kuhlman took the last seat with 65. Republican Ron Riley and Democrat Dave Ashby fell short with 55 and 53 votes.
Janet Carter Sullens won the race for Tonti Township supervisor, defeating Dale Ed Michael 170 votes to 37.
Roger Petrea won Tonti Township highway commissioner with 152 votes to beat Richard Meyer’s 54.
All four Tonti Township trustee seats went to Republicans. Loyd Maxey led with 166 votes, Blake Chastain had 155, David Hutchison had 140, and Dan Keele had 134. Among the Democrats, Cole Jezek received 51 votes, Darren Rambo 44, and Nancy Sullens 36.
Republican Steve Gambill won the race for Carrigan Township highway commissioner with 55 votes to 43 for independent Daniel Milan.
