Fourth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Martin W. Siemer is thanking court reporters during National Court Reporting and Captioning week. He’s also announcing an opportunity for those who would like to enter the field.
Siemer says the courtroom professionals are vital in preparing an official written transcript of all courtroom proceedings.
The Fourth Circuit employs 14 court reporters over 9 counties. Siemer says they are impartial, reliable, dedicated and outstanding individuals who strive for accuracy and accountability.
The State of Illinois Court Reporting Services this week announced that enrollment is open to qualified individuals for its tuition free Official Training Program. Successful certification under this program includes an offer of employment as an Official Court Reporter for the State of Illinois.
