The Illinois Department of Public Health has reported two COVID-19 related deaths in South Central Illinois in its Saturday report.
The deaths were a male in his 80s from Marion County and a male in his 70s in Jefferson County. They were among 50 deaths reported around the state.
There were 2,565 new cases of COVID-19 around the state.
More than 134,000 COVID-19 vaccines were administered in Illinois on Friday. 8,359 vaccines have now been administered to Marion County residents, with 2,836 fully vaccinated or 7.5-percent of the county residents.
The seven-day statewide positivity rate remains at 2.4-percent. The Marion County positivity rate is six-tenths of a percent.
