A 47-year-old Kell man has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to an unlawful restraint charge.
James Hefner of South Jefferson admitted to detaining a woman and not allowing her to leave. He was placed on two years probation, given credit for seven days served in jail, ordered to abstain from drugs and alcohol with treatment, and to complete the Men’s Challenging Violence program.
As part of the plea, an aggravated battery charge filed in connection with the same event was dropped. Misdemeanor charges of possession of firearm ammunition without an ID card and violation of bail bond were also dropped.
