The Marion County Board representative member of the Marion County Board of Health attended his first Marion County Board of Health meeting. Dr. Mike Douglas believes that the Marion County Board should be able to provide additional support to the Marion County Board of Health.
“I just think there is outline duties that the Marion County board should provide for the board of Health, and I just want to make sure we are doing our duty.”
After reviewing the budget line items, Douglas believes the Marion County Board can learn from the Marion County Board of Health. He says Marion County Board auditing issues are stifling the grant money being received by the Marion County Board of Health. Douglas explains how the audits affect the Marion County Board of Health.
“So we are making more work for the health board because the county board did not do their job of getting the audits done on time. Now the administrator for the health board is having to do more work.”
After discussing the amount of animal bites in Marion County, Douglas believes that the Marion County Board could be providing additional services to bite cases with the Marion County Board of Health.
