New SCHS Principal Clint Wolfe.

Salem Community High School has named Assistant Principal Clint Wolfe as the new principal to replace John Boles who retires at the end of this school year.

The school board approved an administrative contract for Wolfe at Monday night’s meeting from July 1st of next year until June 30th, 2028.

Superintendent Dr. Brad Detering was pleased with the appointment.

“We’re extremely excited for Mr. Wolfe to be named the next principal of Salem Community High School.  You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who loves SCHS more than Mr. Wolfe.  He’s extremely excited, as he indicated in his interview to continue in the traditions with the administrators and the principals who have gone before him.   He’s extremely proud to be a graduate of SCHS and wants to continue that tradition for many years to come.  We’re really excited to have him.”

Wolfe was a 2000 graduate of SCHS and upon completion of college became a social studies teacher at Salem High.   He is now in his fourth year as assistant principal.  Wolfe says he appreciates the confidence expressed by the school board.

“I think we have a lot of things going for him.  We have great kids, a great staff and community involvement is excellent.  I look forward to continuing those traditions.”

Wolfe will be overseeing the curriculum and building management.  He wants to continue to expand on the school’s relations with the business community.

“I think it just makes more opportunities for our kids.  That’s why we are here.  That is the number one reason why we do what we do.   Whenever you think about how we prepare kids beyond their time here that is an excellent opportunity for them to get real-world experience and understand how things will be for them when they leave.”

And Wolfe says his experience as an SCHS student gives him even more reason to give back to the school.

“I’m internally motivated.  I wouldn’t be here today if it wouldn’t be for my four years here.   Everybody’s story is different, but we have the unique opportunity to touch everybody’s story regardless of what that might be.  I look forward to giving other people the same experience I got.”

A search will now begin for a new assistant principal.

In other personnel actions, the board employed Conner Oswald as a kitchen helper and Connor Brooks as an assistant girls’ basketball coach.  The board also approved Chance Sill and Michael Gray as volunteer wrestling coaches and Gavin Berry as volunteer E-sports Coach.

The board also approved the resignations of Suzanne Brown as track coach and Thomas Goff as Assistant Girls Track Coach.
