Celebrate Centralia, a festival of art, wine and music, is set for Saturday in Centralia. It will run from two to eight and will be centered at Broadway and Locust.
Centralia Economic Development Director Derek Sherman is in charge of the event.
“We’ve got some live music, a Zumba demonstration, and we’ve got some vendors in the street and good food trucks,” Sherman said. “Our fine arts fiesta is in the Illinois Theater, where people can go and vote on their favorite pieces of art from high school students and from the public.”
Sherman says they have their biggest number of art entries ever, with more than 40 from Centralia High School and members of the community.
Music begins from two to three with a youth violin concert, a Zumba Demonstration is planned from 3 to 3:30. Music by 618 Ministry follows from four to five before Backseat Radio Modern Pop Experience takes stage from five to eight Saturday evening.
