Wildcats Increase School Win Record To 14 With Rout At Wood River….Orphans Beat Massac County

The Salem Wildcats improved to 14-2-and-1 on the soccer season and wrapped up the Cahokia Conference with a 10-1 win at Wood River. The win finishes Salem in 2nd place in the Cahokia with just one loss to the champion Columbia.  In the game last night, junior Eli Baker scored 4 goals making it an even 50 on the season.  Alex Spencer scored twice.  Sophomore defender Payton Gullion scored his first high school goal.  Salem also got goals from Caleb Purintun, Holden Richardson and Robbie Shober.  The Cats will honor their 3 seniors on Thursday when they host Newton.

The Centralia Orphans knocked off visiting Massac County 5-3.  In the JV game, the Orphans and Patriots played to a 2-2 tie.  Deacon Snow had 2 goals and an assist.  Peyton Cole added a helper and Christian Alonzo had 3 goals.
