The city of Centralia no longer has designated Spring and Fall Clean Ups for bulk waste collection. Residents can now schedule pickups with Republic Services up to twice per month throughout the year.
Customers must call Republic to schedule a pickup 48 hours prior to the established collection day. There is a limit of four cubic yards per pickup and may include up to two furniture items and up to ten bags of waste material.
Republic Services can be reached at 1-800-631-1156 with questions or to schedule a pickup. Bulk collection is only for residents of Centralia that pay for services through the city of Centralia.
Bulk collection service is for items such as furniture, mattress sets, appliances, and construction materials. Appliances such as washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, window air conditioning units, refrigerators and freezers will be collected. Refrigerators and freezers must have doors removed before being set out for removal. Appliances that contain Freon must have the Freon removed by a certified technician and tagged to indicate that the Freon has been removed.
Carpeting must be cut into sections, rolled up and tied with string or twine. Bundles should be less than four feet in length and less than 35 pounds each. Limit of ten bundles per household.
Construction and demolition material must be bagged when possible or bundled, no longer or wider than four feet and weigh no more than 35 pounds per bundle. All hardware, nails and screws must be removed. Concrete, rocks, bricks, and shingles will not be collected. Construction/demolition materials that are accepted include: Wood, countertops, sinks (no cast iron), vanities, cabinets, doors, toilets (tank removed from bowl), siding, flooring, insulation, fencing, decking, window frames (no glass).
Basketball poles can be picked up if they are disassembled and broken down into four-foot sections. Sand or other weighted material must be removed from the base. Basketball pole sections cannot exceed thirty-five pounds in weight.
