Early voting opened on Thursday for the November General Election.

Marion County Clerk Steve Fox says early voting can be completed on the second floor of the county courthouse.

“Early voting starts today, and we’ll be open 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday except for holidays,” Fox said “We will have two Saturdays available for early voting. Those will be the last two Saturdays before the election, so the last Saturday of October and then the first Saturday in November. We will also have some voting in Centralia available; the two Wednesdays before the election we’ll be doing voting at the Centralia township building from about 9 to 3 in the afternoon.”

Fox says you can still vote if you aren’t registered or have moved.

“At this point they can still come in and register and we can get them taken care of for early voting. After October 9, that’s the deadline to close registration. We still can help them, but we can only do that here at the county clerk’s office during voting hours.”

Fox is anticipating a large number of early votes due to the hotly contested Presidential Race.

There were 62 who voted on the first day of open voting, much higher than usual.
