Ameren Illinois is reporting that 613 customers are without power after a power line fell in the backyard of a home in the 1100 block of North Franklin starting a small fire. Both Salem Police and Fare are on the scene. It was not immediately clear what caused the power line to come down.
SIHF Healthcare on Hawthorn Road in Salem is currently without power. We will release an update when power is restored.
Salem Police say the power outage includes stop lights at West Main and Illinois and North Broadway and Boone Street. Please be cautious at the intersections until Salem Public Works is able to get up stop signs at the two intersections.
