Two people were injured, including one who was airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital, in a two-vehicle crash at Lincoln and McCord in Centralia Friday afternoon.

Centralia Police say a car driven by Gavyn Arnold of North Morrison in Central City was westbound in the far right lane when he made a turn across the other lanes of traffic and was hit in the driver’s side by a pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Julie Murfin of Metcalf Road in Iuka.

Arnold was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia and later transferred to a St. Louis Hospital.   Murfin declined hospital treatment, but a passenger, 55-year-old Kathryn Brelsfoard of Briarcroft Road in Salem, was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

The Centralia Fire Department had to extricate Arnold from his vehicle.

The crash occurred at 1:10 Friday afternoon.
