Robert L. Overturf, Jr. 69, of Centralia, passed away Sept. 4, 2024 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born the son of Robert L. Sr. and Jackie (Horst) Overturf on September 4, 1955. He married Pam Bauer and they later divorced.
Survivors include his beloved daughter Courtney Kolesar, husband J.J. of Staunton, IL; two grandchildren Carly and Carter; sisters Roberta Bowen and Kim Booth, husband Randy; lifelong friend Jack Trainor, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother Terry Overturf and brother-in-law Randy Bowen.
Robert was a proud United States Veteran having served in the National Guard. After his time of service, he worked for the railroad. Eventually, he left rural Illinois for the city and worked many years in Chicago as a welder, but ultimately decided it was time to settle back in Centralia as home. He loved his family dearly and will be missed.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Centralia VFW Post 2055 and the Centralia American Legion Post 446. Memorial contributions in Robert’s honor may be made to the Family Wishes.
