There were no deaths in Marion County from COVID-19 related illness on Thursday, but there were five reported across South Central Illinois.  Three of the deaths were in Jefferson County, males in their 50s and 70s and a female in her 90s.  The other deaths were a female in her 60s in Clay County and a male in his 80s in Fayette County.

The Marion County Health Department is reporting 63 new cases.  Six of the cases are students, but only one was in class and is having contact tracing completed.  None of the cases involved long term care residents.   38 of the cases are considered community spread and 25 are household or close contacts.

There are now 211 active cases, including 27 who are hospitalized.  Four of those are on ventilators.  Another 64 were released from isolation on Thursday, bringing the number recovered to 3,069.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 32 new positives.  329 are currently on home isolation and 12 are hospitalized.

Jefferson County reported 31 new positives.  186 are currently in isolation.

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 30 new cases.

The Clay County Health Department reported nine new cases on Wednesday.

The Wayne County Health Department reported only one new case on Thursday.  109 remain on isolation and three are hospitalized.
