2024 08/22 – Gail Lee Campbell

Gail Lee Campbell, 77, of Centralia, passed away on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at his home.

He was born on Monday, February 10th, 1947, in Centralia, to the late Tom Campbell and Dorothy (Sloat) Campbell. He married Karen Kent on January 19, 1969, at the Demaree United Methodist Church in Centralia, and she survives him.

Gail is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Karen Campbell; his children, Tommy Campbell and Laura of Centralia, and Amy Kuder and Brent of Centralia; his grandchildren, Richie Campbell and Kristen of Centralia, Tyler Campbell and Sunny of Centralia, Abigail Ingenrieth and Travis Beppler of Centralia, and Aubrey Kuder of Centralia; his great-grandchildren, Shylaa Campbell, Rhett Campbell, Oaklynn Campbell, Reagan Campbell, and Tate Beppler; his siblings, Joyce Broadwater and Ron of Centralia, Bruce Campbell and Karen of Centralia, and Michelle Myers and Larry of Junction City; his brother-in-law, David Miller of Centralia; several nieces, nephews, cousins as well as bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also his four-legged companion Josie.

He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Dorothy Campbell and his sisters, Sharon Miller and Delores Campbell.

Gail proudly served in Vietnam in the Marines Corps from 1967-1969 and worked as a laborer and concrete finisher for Depew and Owens before retiring. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral Services for Gail Lee Campbell will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 22, 2024, with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Military honors will be accorded at the gravesite by the Centralia American Legion Post 446 and the Centralia V.F.W. Post 2055. A Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 at the Sutherland- Garnier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the great grandchildren’s College Fund and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Campbell Family.
