Patricia Ann Kowalski, 72, of McLeansboro, IL, passed away at 2:37 A.M. on August 1, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, Indiana. She was born in DuQuoin, Illinois on March 21, 1952, to the late Theodore and Esther (Kroll) Pokorney. She married Richard John Kowalski on June 8, 1974, in DuBois, Illinois and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2020.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, April Bowman of McLeansboro, IL; grandchildren, Maxwell Bowman and Layla Bowman both of McLeansboro, Illinois; sisters, Laverne Dickerson of Nashville, Illinois, Madylen Baugh Roeper and husband Jeff Roeper of St. Charles, Missouri; brother, Stan Pokorney and wife Rita of Wayne City, Illinois; sister-in-law, Genevieve Lee of Creve Coeur, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews also survive.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She worked at several Garment Factories in the area and she last worked as a Sales Associate in Wal-Mart. Patricia enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She loved to babysit and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois Celebration of Life will be held at noon at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois. Inurnment will follow at St. Barbara’s Cemetery in Scheller, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Patricia’s honor to Donor’s Choice.
