Zona Boldt Livesay passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at the family farm where she had been lovingly taken care of by her son, Bob and his wife, Jackie.
Zona was born September 6, 1933, the daughter of Arthur and Vivian (McNail) Wilson. She was married to Orville Boldt in 1951 until his passing in 1993. She later married Jim Livesay in 1995 until his passing in 2022.
Zona is survived by five children; Marilyn and Bill Chesnek of Ashley, Illinois, Les and Nancy Boldt of Katy, Texas, Dave and Vicki Boldt of Fairfield, Illinois, Bob and Jackie Boldt of Woodlawn, Illinois, and Julie and Ben Klebba of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Zona is also survived by nine grandchildren, Matt and Carla Chesnek, Jason and Dana Chesnek, Lance and Brittany Boldt, Nathan and Chelsea Boldt, Rachel and Matt Greene, Kristin Boldt, Alex Boldt, Jessica Klebba, Benjamin and Kate Klebba. Zona leaves behind seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Julie and Jerry Hart of Centralia, Illinois, Joseph and Heidi Livesay of Centralia, Illinois; step-grandchildren, Mollie, Seth, and Emmaus; sister, Juanita and Don Likens; sisters-in-law, Darlene Wilson, Ella Wilson, Diane Wilson, and Sherry Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Vera Phelps and Sandy Shaw.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom, Danny, Wayne, and Russell.
Zona excelled in school and graduated high school at the age of sixteen. She worked on the family farm alongside her husband, Orville. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, sewing, and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She was an avid Saint Louis Cardinal fan. Zona was a member of White Swan Baptist Church and Fouts Christian Church holding many positions while serving faithfully. Zona’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fouts Christian Church at 1629 East Dix Irvington Road in Centralia, Illinois 62801. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Fouts Christian Church in Centralia, Illinois with Mr. Jerry Wilson officiating assisted by Mr. Les Boldt, Mr. Lance Boldt, and Mr. Nathan Boldt. Interment will follow at Union Brick Cemetery in Ashley, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Zona’s honor to Union Brick Cemetery.
