The Patoka School will go on remote learning until the Holiday break.

Superintendent David Radamacher says while they were not forced into the situation by positive cases of COVID-19, they have been averaging 20 to 30 students on quarantine.    He didn’t want to take the chance of having a student become sick with COVID-19 over the Christmas Holidays.

While Patoka High School has been on remote learning twice before, this will be the first time for the grade school and junior high.   Radamacher expects students to return to in-class learning after the holidays on January 4th.

He reports every student from third grade up has a chrome book to complete their school work.  Those in kindergarten through second grade will work from packets.

Radamacher says attendance will be taken and teachers will reach out to parents in the event students do not participate.

The district will make free breakfast and lunch available for home delivery starting on Monday.

Radamacher is asking for Patoka families’ patience and understanding during these complicated times and the school would like to do its part to ensure a safe and happy holiday break.
