2024 06/19 – William Allen Schneider

William Allen Schneider, age 76, of Farina, Illinois passed away Thursday, June 13, in the peaceful tranquility of his home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter, Illinois with a visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Timothy Landskroener will be officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may go to St. Peter’s Lutheran School Tuition Assistance Fund, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Improvement Fund, Trinity Lutheran School in Danville, or the donor’s choice. Bill was born on October 21, 1947, in Farina, Illinois, the son of Earl and Evelyn (Ernst) Schneider. He married Betty Wollin on June 27, 1970, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter Illinois.  Bill attended Eastern Illinois University and studied Chemistry.  Bill moved to Danville, Illinois and started work at Lauhoff Grain Company where he worked for over 40 years as a laboratory technician, operator, and maintenance technician.  While in Danville, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to plays and card night with friends.  Upon retirement, Bill and Betty relocated back to Farina, where he was raised.  He attended church at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  Bill enjoyed retirement and being back where he grew up.  He loved to cook and bake for events at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  He loved to read and study history. Collecting art and painting were among his hobbies.  He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren including trips to attend his grandchildren’s events.

He is survived by his two sons, Nathan Schneider (Amanda) of Cary, Illinois, and John Schneider (Lise) of Bourbonnais, Illinois; three brothers-in-law Dennis Wollin (Theresa) and Darrell Wollin (Sandy) of St. Peter, Illinois, and Kenneth Wollin of Forsyth, Illinois; five sisters-in-law, Karen Wollin of St. Peter, Barbara Shelton of Decatur, Sharon Moss of St. Elmo, Rosemary Gibbons (James) of Edgewood, and Rhonda Comrie (Scott) of Alhambra; nephew Danny Schneider (Diane) of Ft. Myers, FL; six grandchildren: Christian, Austin, Logan, Annelise, Elizabeth, and Benjamin; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son Timothy Schneider; brother James Schneider (Kaye); and brothers-in-law: Marvin Wollin and Dave Shelton.
