The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 7,598 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 on Sunday. There also 76 additional COVID-19 related deaths.
None of the deaths were in South Central Illinois. However, there were deaths reported in Johnson, Madison, Massac, and Richland Counties in Southern Illinois.
The statewide preliminary positivity rate for the past seven days has dropped to 10.1-percent. The rate in the Southern Illinois Region increased to 13.6-percent. Marion County’s rate fell to 13.3-percent. The Metro East Region saw an increase to 15.3-percent. The East Central Illinois Region dropped to 12.1-percent.
