Jane (Hermes) Cuthbertson, 97, of Salem passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2024.
She was born November 22, 1926, in Sparta Illinois to Albert and Hilda (McDonald) Hermes. She married William “Bill” Cuthbertson on July 12th, 1947.
She is survived by two daughters: Jean Crain and husband Snake, of Salem and Nancy McDaneld and husband Lonnie, of Kell; three grandchildren: Chris McDaneld, Jason McDaneld and wife Tracey, and Bryan McIntosh and wife Shelli; six great-grandchildren: Dakota McDaneld, Dustin Fredrich, Aaron McDaneld, Kaitlyn McDaneld, Steven McIntosh, and Jacob McIntosh; one sister-in-law: Sue Hermes; and extended family: David and Marti McIntosh
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters, and one brother.
Jane was a member at the Salem Presbyterian Church, a member of the Salem Township Hospital Auxiliary, and loved country western dances. Her most important accolade was that of homemaker to her husband and her daughters.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at Caledonia Cemetery in Sparta, Illinois at 10:30 am with Pastor Denise Burke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Salem Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway/ P.O.
