The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 10,012 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 76 additional deaths in their Sunday report. The deaths include a male in their 70s in both Clay and Jefferson County and a female in her 80s in Wayne County.
The positivity rate continues to fall and is now at 11.3-percent for the seven day period ending on November 21st. The Southern Illinois Region is at a 12.7-percent positivity rate. Marion County’s positivity rate has dropped to 16.7-percent. The positivity rate in the Metro-East Region is at 15.1-percent. The positivity rate in the East Central Region is at 14-percent.
The med-surg bed availability in the Metro East Region has fallen to just 16-percent and only 21-percent of the ICU beds are open. The Southern Illinois Region is in much better shape. Med-Surg bed capacity in the Southern Illinois Region is now at 48-percent and ICU beds are at 28-percent. In the East Central Region, 29 percent of med-surg beds are available and 29 percent of ICU units.
