Helen Louise Haddox, 79, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, passed away on November 16, 2020, at her home. She was born August 24, 1941, in Mount Vernon to the late Clarence W. Yearwood and Gertrude G. (Elliott) Yearwood. Helen owned and operated Barr Implement Company in Pinckneyville and also owned and operated Tours with Helen, a travel agency and also. She was very proud of her service in the Volunteer Police Department at Cape Coral, Florida as well as the Volunteer Boat Patrol. She also spent time volunteering for the Cape Coral Hospital and loved to travel. She is dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by her family and friends.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, November 21, 2020, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at New Shiloh Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Graveside Service will begin at 11:00 am at the cemetery with Pastor Rodney Mellott officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Helen’s honor to New Shiloh Cemetery and will be accepted at Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864. Helen is survived by her children, Mark (Shellie) Barr of Pinckneyville and Brenda Hagene Barr of Pinckneyville; four grandchildren, Corey Hagene, Chelsea (Darren) Bumann, Chrissy (special friend, Adam Lacy) Hagene, and Katie (Mark) Howell; two great-grandchildren, Ty Henry Bumann and Milo Howell; brother, Steve (Sharon) Yearwood of Mount Vernon; sister, Janet Isaac of Mount Vernon; stepson, Craig Haddox and Chris (Kathy) Haddox; step-grandchildren, Sam, Olivia, Jack, and Nicole; one step-great-grandson, Zachary; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen was first married to William D. Barr and he preceded her in death. She later married James R. Haddox on December 4, 1983 in Hawaii and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2000. In addition to her parents and both husbands, Helen was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Yearwood, and grandson, Joey Hagene.
