Governor JB Pritzker says there’s “real hope” for widespread distribution of a coronavirus vaccine by the spring.
He notes recent announcements of promising vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna give hope of light at the end of the tunnel.
“As of our most current data we are today averaging more than 5200 patients fighting COVID-19 in our hospitals. That’s 400 more individuals than at our spring high. And a 70% increase in the last 2 weeks alone.”
Pritzker says once they are approved and ready to be distributed to the general public, different health care providers will likely have different versions.
