The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting new COVID-19 deaths in Clinton, Jefferson and Wayne Counties on Monday.
The Clinton County Health Department says the man in his 50s who died was ‘full of life’ before coming down with COVID-19 and fighting it the past few weeks before passing away. The health department reports of the four deaths reported over the weekend, one was an extended care facility resident while the other three resided in their own homes prior to becoming ill. Clinton County has now had 49 COVID-related deaths.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting two new deaths, a male in his 70s and another in his 90s. It brings their number of deaths to 46.
The Wayne County death is a male in his 80s and is the 27th COVID-related death in the county.
The Marion County Health Department had no new deaths but is reporting 49 new cases over the weekend and Monday. Of those cases, six are long term care residents from various Marion County facilities and four are students. The department is contact tracing on two of the students. One of the others is a full remote student and one was not at school during their infectious period. Of the new cases, 22 are listed as community spread and 27 are household/close contacts. The age ranges of the new cases are a boy under ten, a girl under 13 to a female in her 90s.
The health department reports 255 active cases, including 18 in the hospital of which one is on a ventilator. There were 98 released from isolation in the past three days, bringing the total number of those recovering to 1,190.
The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 100 new cases. There are 550 on home isolation and 11 are hospitalized.
The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 57 new cases and 220 active cases.
Washington County had 31 new cases on Saturday and Sunday, including two males under one to three people in their 80s. There are now 96 active cases and one hospitalized.
Fayette County is reporting 30 new confirmed and 51 probable cases over the weekend.
The Clay County Health Department has 76 new cases from Friday through Sunday.
Wayne County is reporting six new cases on Monday. There are now 116 in isolation and two who are hospitalized.
