Marion County Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says there have now been 14 deaths of residents at the Odin Care Center.   She reports three deaths reported by the state on Wednesday were all at the care center.  They were a male in his 70s and females in their 40s and 80s.

The Illinois Department of Public Health is currently reporting a total of 115 positive cases between residents and employees of the Odin Care Center.  Mallow says all but one resident has now tested positive for COVID-19 in addition to multiple employees.

Mallow is also reporting 48 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and Thursday.   None are long term care residents and seven are school age.  Contact tracing is underway on three students.  The other four students were not at school during their infectious periods.  Thirty of the cases are being listed as community spread while 18 were the result of being household or close contact.

There are now 256 active cases, including 21 in the hospital and two on ventilators.  The health department is reporting 29 recovered over the past two days, bringing the number of recovered to 1.092.

The positive cases range in age from a boy under 10, four girls under 13, four teens up to a female in their 90s.  All are on isolation.
