The Marion County Health Department is reporting five new COVID-19 related deaths on Friday.  Two of the deaths were residents of the Odin Health Care Center where there has been an outbreak of COVID-19.  The three other deaths were all individuals who were living at home who later were admitted to the hospital as their conditions deteriorated.  Those who passed away included two females in their 80s, a male in his 80s, a male in his 70s, and a male in his 60s.   There have now been 30 COVID-related deaths in Marion County.

There were also deaths reported in Fayette and Wayne Counties.  The Fayette County death is a man in his 90s that was related to a congregate facility outbreak.   It was the 29th death in Fayette County.  The Wayne County death was a female in her 70s.  It was the county’s 23rd death.

The health department is also reporting 37 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.  Three of the cases are in various Marion County long term care facilities.  One was school age but was not in school during their infectious period.  The cases range in age from a boy under 12, a male and female in their teens to a female in her 90s.

The health department is considering 23 of the cases from community spread and 14 are the apparent result of household or close contacts.   There are now 273 active cases, including 20 who are in the hospital and two of those who are on ventilators.   The health department released 99 from isolation on Friday, bringing the total number who have recovered to 949.

Clinton County is reporting 57 new positive cases.  There are now 313 on home isolation and seven who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting 39 new cases ranging from four teens to a male in his 80s.  There are now 185 active cases.

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting 27 new cases bringing the number of active cases to 148.

The Wayne County Health Department is reporting 15 new positive cases including a male and female teen to a male in his 70s.  There are now 115 people in isolation and six who are hospitalized.
