Jessica Lynn Kimpel, 38, of Waltonville, Illinois, passed away on April 10, 2024, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois after a lengthy illness surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born May 25, 1985, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Roger and Abby Jo (England) Newell.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Abby Jo Newell of Waltonville; sisters, Vanessa McGuire and husband, Ryan of Mount Vernon and Veronica Raley and husband, Elias of Sesser; former husband, Tyler Johnson and their children, Addison and Wyatt; separated husband, Justin Kimpel and his children, Shane and Michelle; significant other, Jeremy Mount and his sons, Ryder and Vedder; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Jessica was preceded in death by her father, Roger Newell, and grandparents, Lois and Fred Newell, and Bob and Peggy England.
Jess was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She loved going to concerts. She enjoyed baking and especially spending time with her children and baking with them. Her children and her family brought her much joy and strength. Jess had a huge heart and her desire in life was to bring joy to other people. She had worked as a server for many years, with most of that time at the Frosty Mug where she made many friends. Jess was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodlawn, Illinois.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Jessica’s honor to her children, Addison and Wyatt in the care of Tyler Johnson.
