State Representative Blaine Wilhour has announced after a three-year suspension due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Senior Fair will return to Salem on Tuesday, April 23rd.
The event is scheduled from nine to eleven at the Salem Community Activities Center at 416 East Oglesby Street.
Wilhour says the annual event helps older constituents connect with health services, learn about programs tailored to an older clientele, and hopefully help them improve their quality of life through programs to keep them active and healthy for many years to come.
There will be information on programs offered by the Midland Area Agency on Aging, the Honor Flight program for US Military Veterans, and the Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs. The I-CASH program through the State Treasurer’s office will also be there to allow you to find out if the state is holding anything that belongs to you.
Attendees will also be able to take advantage of opportunities for free blood pressure and eye screenings from the Christopher Rural Health Planning Corporation, discounted lab vouchers from SSM Health, spinal screenings from Salem Chiropractic and SSM Health Cancer Care colon FIT (fecal immunochemical test) kits.
Complimentary refreshments will be served and attendees will be eligible for door prizes.
