Phillip LeRoy Laffoon, 82, of Walnut Hill passed away Monday, April 1, 2024. He was born on July 16, 1941, the son of LeRoy Anthony and Junita (Rains) Laffoon in Herrin. He married Betty Lou Robinson and she preceded him in death in 2004.
Survivors include his brothers, David Laffoon and wife Debra of Missouri, Michael Anthony Laffoon and wife Ramona of Colorado; his sisters, Patricia Farmer and husband Jeffery of South Carolina, and Joy Corder and husband Wes of Jacksonville, Illinois; his sweetheart, Mary Ellen Grimes; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Lou; and his sister, Shelbie Jo Kuberski.
Phillip was a hard-working truck driver. He liked to tinker with electronics, and he was a master at fixing clocks. Phillip enjoyed music and was quite a wonderful dancer. Phillip especially loved the time he spent with his family, appreciating get-togethers where good conversations and fun times were had. Phillip will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
A visitation time with Phillip’s family to offer words of comfort will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
