The Marion County Health Department has been notified of 12 additional residents who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says two of the positives are in school and the department was doing contact tracing at the schools.  There were no new long term care positive cases on Thursday.  Of the 12 new cases, seven are considered community spread, and five are believed to have been infected by household or close contacts.  The case range in age from a boy under ten, a male in his teens to two females in their 70s.

There are now 163 active cases, including seven who are in the hospital of which two are on ventilators.   715 have recovered, including nine released from isolation on Thursday.

The Clinton County Health Department reported 30 new positive cases.  230 are on home isolation and 15 are currently hospitalized.

The Fayette County Health Department is reporting their 23rd COVID-19 related death.  It is not from a congregate-care facility.   There are 12 new confirmed cases on Thursday bringing the total on isolation to 98.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting nine new cases ranging in age from a female under 13 to a male and female in their 70s.  94 are currently on isolation.

The Clay County Health Department reports the state has now confirmed the death of a female reported last week was COVID-19 related.   The department is also reporting ten new cases.  Only two of the cases had known exposure to COVID-19.  All the new cases are recovering at home, but two previously reported cases have now been hospitalized.

The Illinois Health Department reported another death related to COVID-19 in Wayne County.  A male in his 80s has passed away.  The Wayne County Health Department is reporting five new cases ranging in age from a male and female teen to a female in her 80s.  98 are currently in isolation and five are hospitalized.
