Mary Ruth Switzer, 83 of Farina, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Mary was born January 8, 1941, in White County Illinois, the daughter of Rev. O.H. and Helen Leota (Kinison) Vaupel. She married Morris Eugene Switzer, and he preceded her in death.
Mary is survived by her son: Rick Switzer and wife Carolyn of Farina, Illinois; her daughter: Sherry Connelly and husband Glenn of Westfield, Illinois; one brother: Jim Vaupel and wife Stephanie of Stockton, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Rev. O.H. and Helen Vaupel; 3 brothers: Herbert Vaupel, Edward Vaupel, and Richard Vaupel; and 2 sisters: Betty Miller and Joyce Fuller.
Mary enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, crocheting, listening to country music, spending time with her family, and being active in the Church.
A Visitation will be held at the First Southern Baptist Church of Farina in Farina, Illinois from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024. A Service will take place at 11:00 AM at the Church, with Burial to follow at Farina Cemetery in Farina, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Farina Ambulance Service or to the First Southern Baptist Church of Farina and will be accepted at the service or the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home at 310 North Broadway/P.O.
