Wilma Claire Manske, age 89 of Iuka, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at her home.
Wilma was born on December 5, 1934 in Michigan City, Indiana, the daughter of Leland Finske and Sophie Rose (Maksymczak) Finske Ellis.
Survivors include her children, R. Gregory Manske of Marion, Iowa, Michael G. Manske and wife Rhonda of Porter, Indiana, Daniel J. Manske of Mishawaka, Indiana, Terri A. Wells and husband Mark of Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, and Anthony L. Manske and Leslie of Iuka; a sister, Michelle of Michigan City, Indiana; grandchildren, Megan and husband Kory, Mark, Hannah, Christopher, Alexandria and husband Brandon, Jacob, Travis and wife Juliana, and Daytona; and great grandchildren, Blaire, Dane, Conrad, and Madden.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leland and Sophie, and two sisters, Adele and Jacqueline.
Wilma graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a homemaker in her younger years when she was raising her children. Once they were grown, Wilma went to work and managed the Dollar General in Salem, Illinois for over 20 years. Wilma enjoyed her independence. She loved to read and work outside in her yard. She enjoyed watching golf and NFL football, especially the Chicago Bears.
Wilma’s wishes were to be cremated. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Michigan City, Indiana. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences and memories can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
