The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday due to excessive danger of fires due to strong winds, low relative humidity and the extremely dry conditions.
The critical fire weather conditions are conducive to the rapid spread and growth of uncontrolled wildfires.
Winds are forecast to be out of the south at 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 miles per hour. Relative humidity will be as low as 18 to 20 percent.
Centralia Fire Chief John Lynch late Saturday morning said a decision was made to cancel the Centralia burn weekend on both Saturday and Sunday as a result of conditions that could lead to the rapid out of control spread of leaf fires.
All residents are encouraged NOT to burn Saturday due to the highly hazardous conditions.
