Sharon Jean “Jeannie” Myers, 81, of Paxton passed away at 3:39 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells St, Paxton with Pastor Marcus McCollom officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Sharon was born June 13, 1942, in Paxton the daughter of Harold Arthur and Dorothy Marie Nelson Spanhook. She married Jerry Myers in 1962 in Taylorville.She is survived by her children, Joseph Paul Myers of Iuka, Amy Marie Myers of Salem, Jack Lee Myers of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Mitchell Lee Neff, Bailey Jean (Craig McGee) Myers, Carly Jo (Austin Nix) Myers, Blake Joseph Myers; six great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Dawn Neff, Cheyenne Marie Neff, Shea Lynn Jean McGee, Lillian Love Grace Myers, Oaklyn Jo Peoples, Myles James Nix; siblings, Donald (Bonnie) Spanhook of Paxton, Ted Spanhook of Rantoul, Bob (Sharon) Spanhook of Decatur, Debbie Wheeler of Paxton; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Delores “Bunny” Spanhook.Before returning to Paxton in 2005 she lived in Neoga and Iuka, Illinois. She was a bus driver for the Iuka School System for many years. Jeannie also worked at the World Color Printing Plant in Salem and Bryan Manor, Salem for many years before retiring.She was a member of the Paxton Church of Christ. Jeannie enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, gardening, and the company of her faithful dog, Henry.
