Linda Marie Burkett, age 75, of Centralia, Illinois, peacefully passed away at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Centralia Manor in Centralia, Illinois, with her family by her side.
She was born on May 2, 1948, in East Chicago, Indiana, the daughter of Henry Aaron and Mary Louise (Harmon) Brasket.
Linda is survived by her loving family; daughter, Kimberly Stover and wife Keri Stover of Mount Vernon, Illinois; son, James Burkett and wife Nicole of Clearwater, Florida; grandchildren, Cheri Lynn Burkett, Chris Stover, and Carter Burkett, Carissa Burkett; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Dawn Marie Hutson, and Amelia LeeAnn Stover; sister, Wilma Harrison of Centralia, Illinois; niece, Amanda Cummins and husband Keith of Salem, Illinois; and great-nieces, Lexi Cummins and Kylie Cummins.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Brasket and Mary Brasket; sister, Diane Louise Higgins: brothers, Eugene Richard Brasket, and James Neal Brasket; and nephew, Eric James Arrasmith.
Linda enjoyed reading murder mysteries written by Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes. She liked watching Sci-Fi movies and going out to do some shopping. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and coloring in adult coloring books. A day didn’t go by without having one of her favorite drinks of Coca-Cola. She loved listening to Classic Rock & Roll music including Creedence Clearwater Revival and Bob Seger. Linda cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Linda retired in 2005 as a line production operator with Littelfuse Inc. in Centralia, Illinois, after 32 years of service. She graduated with Sandoval High School’s “Class of 1966. “ Linda lived her whole life in Centralia, Illinois.
