Roger B. Nance, 77, of Centralia, Illinois passed away at his lake home Monday, October 5, 2020.
Roger was a retired geologist who graduated from Southern Illinois University. He worked several years for the State of Illinois and then for Freeman United Coal Co. until he retired.
Mr. Nance was cremated and burial will be private. The family suggests friends wanting to make a memorial contribution in his memory consider Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, American Cancer Society, or Habitat for Humanity and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, 310 N. Broadway, P.O. Box 97, Salem, Illinois 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care.
Born December 10, 1942, in Bar Harbor, Maine, he was the son of Sherman T. and Pauline (Potts) Nance. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his siblings, Edward E. (wife Candace) Nance of Boonville, Indiana, and Sharron Nance of Durham, North Carolina.
