Jeffery “Jeff” Hammock, 68, of Centralia, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.He was born January 15, 1956, in Champaign, Illinois, the son of Warren Hammock and Helen (Sylvester) Hammock. He married Kathy McKinney on April 19, 1982, and she survives.
In addition to his wife of 41 years, Kathy Hammock of Centralia, Jeff is also survived by his daughters: Morgan Hammock, Tiffany Hammock both of Centralia, and Ann Hammock of Mt. Vernon; a step-daughter: Corrine of Rockford; two grandchildren: Kyler and Amara; three sisters: Oma Menderhall of Champaign, Jean Skinner of Long Beach, Mississippi, and Marilyn Powell of Gulf Port, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Warren Hammock and two sisters: Sharon Neathery and Carolyn Hammock.
Jeff enjoyed fishing and old cars. His biggest passion in life was his family and he loved spending time with them and his friends.
Per Jeff’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
