Maurice Miller, 63, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 pm October 1, 2020 at his home. Maurice proudly served his country in the United States Army and later worked for Rockwell International in Centralia. He was a member of the Salvation Clinic Church in Mount Vernon. Maurice is dearly loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Antioch International Assembly in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm at the church with Evangelist Betty Gradford officiating. Memorials may be made in Maurice’s honor to the Miller family in the care of Marissa Eldridge.Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Maurice is survived by six children, Carl Brewer, Carla Brewer-Gamby and husband, Thomas Gamby, Carnell Williams, Cavell Williams all of Chicago, Illinois, Tamera Turner and special friend, William Wilborn of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Clarice Miller of Saint Louis, Missouri, and Marissa Eldridge and husband, Jim of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Anthony, Monique, Monae, La’Asia, DeMontez, Jeremiah, Chole, Carmen, Carley, NyGell, Nylah, Caliyah, Chelsea, and Caiden Carnell; aunts, Mildred Stuckey of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Betty Jean Miller of Orlando, Florida, Ernest Jean Carter and husband, James Carter of Atlanta, Georgia, Deliah Miller of Senatobia, Mississippi; nephew, RaMone Moore; uncle, Bill Walts and wife, Esther of Chicago, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, ReMedy and Jamcure. He is also survived by the Miller, Wilson, Stuckey, Taylor, Brooks, and Families.
He was born June 28, 1957 in Senatobia, Mississippi to the late Robert Lee Miller and Wylodine (Pasley) Miller. Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wylodine Miller; brothers, Melvin and Richard Miller; God daughter, Nichole Bolden; uncle, Andrew Taylor; grandson, Camari Williams.
