Linda Lou Cusac, 77, of Kinmundy, Illinois passed away at 1:05 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois with her loving family at her side.

Linda was born on September 2, 1946, to Roscoe and Evelyn (Kimber) Simpson in Streator, Illinois. She married Edward LaVerne Cusac, Sr., on August 12, 1967, in Lincoln, Illinois and they shared 50 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death on January 5, 2018.

Linda’s professional life was as varied and vibrant as her personality. She dedicated many years of service to Xenia Manufacturing in Xenia, Illinois. Beyond her role in the manufacturing world, Linda embraced the most cherished and demanding job of being a homemaker. Her home was a haven of comfort and joy, reflecting her nurturing soul and the importance she placed on family. The family was the cornerstone of Linda’s world. She invested her heart and soul into the lives of her children and grandchildren, supporting them unconditionally in all their endeavors.

Linda’s presence at family gatherings was a source of strength and happiness, and her absence will be profoundly felt by all whose lives she so deeply enriched. Creativity flowed through Linda like a gentle stream. She possessed an extraordinary talent for crafting, especially in making silk flower arrangements that were as colorful and lively as her spirit. Her hands were rarely still, as she was always searching for new projects and challenges to express her artistic vision. Linda’s crafts were not just a hobby but a way for her to share her love and thoughtfulness with others, as each piece she created was infused with her care and attention to detail.

Linda’s faith was a guiding light in her life, and she was an active member of the Brown Christian Church in Kinmundy, Illinois. Her involvement in the church community was a testament to her belief in kindness, service, and fellowship. Through her participation, she formed lasting friendships and found great solace and inspiration in her faith, which she carried with her in every aspect of her life.

Linda is survived by her sons: Glenn Eugene (Julie) Cusac of El Paso, Illinois, Edward LaVerne (Tracy) Cusac, Jr. of Maryville, Illinois; grandchildren: Christopher McColl, Alexander Cusac, Mikayla Cusac, Zachery Cusac, and Isabell Cusac; a sister: Barbara McCollam of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Harvey Simpson; a sister: Roberta Jones.

It was Mrs. Cusac’s wish for cremation, and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family and can be sent to the funeral home. The McGriff Funeral Home in Kinmundy is assisting the family with the arrangements. To sign the guestbook online or share a memory of Linda, please visit www.mcgriffandtriplettfh.com.
