Bond has been set at $150,000 for a 57-year-old Salem man charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Rayvon Garner of South Rotan is accused in the charge of inappropriately touching a person under the age of 13 between August 1st and September 30th. The public defender was appointed to represent him.
If released on bond, Garner was ordered to have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18. A preliminary hearing was set for October 27th.
Salem Police say Garner was arrested after allegedly admitting to committing an act with an 11-year-old grandchild while they were visiting their home. Police were contacted by the juvenile’s parents after they were told about the incident.
