The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 28 counties including Clinton, Fayette, and Washington are at the warning level this week for coronavirus disease. Bond, St. Clair, Monroe, Wabash, and Jasper County in Southern Illinois are also on the list.
Every Friday a list of counties that exceed eight-percent positivity on COVID-19 testing are placed on the warning list.
Fayette County’s rate is now the highest in South Central Illinois at 15.5-percent for the week September 20th through the 26th. Clinton County’s rate is at 12.7-percent. Washington County’s rate is at 11.5-percent.
Marion County’s positivity rate has dropped to 4.9-percent. Jefferson County is at six percent. Clay County is at 7.3-percent. Wayne County is listed at 6.6-percent.
