2024 02/06 – Velmia G. ‘Jeanie’ Middleton

Velmia G. “Jeanie” Middleton, 75, of Centralia, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 21, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of William Bryant and Virginia (Abrams) Palmisano. She married Rev. Dennis Middleton on August 23, 1969, in Cincinnati, OH and he preceded her in death on November 16, 2020.

Jeanie is survived by her children: Aaron (Kelly) Middleton of Kell, IL, Adam (Kelsie) Middleton of Centralia, IL, Susan (Shawn) Diehl of Centralia, IL and Sandra Hull (Ed) of Centralia, IL; her grandchildren: Jayla (Nathaniel) Langfelder, Alyssa Middleton and fiance Ryan Eschbach, Jenna Middleton, Josiah Holden, Kevin (Isabella) Holden, Violet Teitsort (Ashton Morgan), Shyann Wilkins (Jalen Thomas), Johnnie (Levi) Thompson, Clayton Hull, Harley (Taylor) Middleton, Phoenix, Jayden, and Jaxon Middleton; three great-grandchildren and one on the way; 5 half brothers and half-sisters; several nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bryant and Virginia Palmisano, and her husband: Rev. Dennis Middleton.

Jeanie worked at the Centralia Wal-Mart for 21 years. Her husband, Dennis, was a retired Pastor of the Nazarene Church and she enjoyed being a Pastor’s wife for many years. Jeanie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Sumner Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem with Pastor Karl Barnfield officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donor’s Choice and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home 310 North Broadway/ P.O.
