Connie Sue Berry, age 64, of Oakland, Illinois, passed away on January 22, 2024, at her home.
She was born November 3, 1959, in Oblong, the daughter of Fred Chaney and Wanda Lee Bruner.
Connie enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, treating herself to manicures, and collecting Elvis memorabilia. Getting together and going out to eat with her grandkids and family was something she always looked forward to. A passionate traveler, she harbored a long-standing dream to see the ocean. Connie was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her 3 children: Michael (Angie) Huff of Oakland, Melissa Huff-Crutchfield of Salem, and Michelle (Phillip) Huff-Freezeland of Salem; former husband and father of her three children: Alan Huff of Clay City; 7 grandchildren: Natalie (Michael) Huff-White, Brianna Huff, Austin Herrington, Shawn Crutchfield, Nicole (Bradley) Freezeland-Lyons, Haley Freezeland, and Jonathan Freezeland; 6 great-grandchildren: Leighton White, Layne White, Zayden Crutchfield, Kian Lyons, Khylen Lyons, and Stella Lyons; and her siblings: Larry Kibler (Sarah Drake) of Paris, Patrick Kibler of Paris, Pearl Kibler (Danny Herrington) of Oakland, Brenda Kibler (Chuck Hoenig) of Keyesport, and Johnny Murphy of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather: Larry Kibler; and a brother: Ricky Kibler.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
