Susan Jean Kuczek, 71, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 9:52 pm on January 21, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
She was born March 28, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leonard and Lorraine (King) Spath. Susan married James “Jim” Kuczek on May 17, 1969. They were blessed with 36 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on November 9, 2005. Susan is survived by her daughter, Sarah Kuczek; sister, Shirley; nieces and nephews, Terri, Bobbie, Kylie, and Nina; and best friend, Sheila Whitt. In addition to her parents and husband, Susan was preceded in death by her siblings, Tim, Leonardt, and Beverly.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am with Pastor Alan Smith and Pastor Steven Lyles officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
