2023 12/21 – Marjorie Elizabeth Redman

Marjorie Elizabeth Redman, 97, of Centralia passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Helia Healthcare in Salem. She was born on June 8, 1926, the daughter of Sam and Maudie (Deckard) George in Springfield, Missouri. She married the love of her life, Harold “Babe” Redman on July 17, 1945, in Arkansas and he preceded her in death on April 29, 1988.

Survivors that will remember Marjorie’s kind spirit include her beloved family, her sweet step-son, Rusty Redman of Nashville, Illinois; her cherished step-grandchildren, Rylie Redman, Lillie Redman; her special sister, Shirley (James) Crane of Centralia, Illinois; her dear nieces and nephews, Cindy (Mark) Keller of West Frankfort, Illinois, Kenzie Marcum of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Courtney McAbee of Carterville, Illinois, Mason Marcum of St. Louis, and Kelly Parrish of Salem, Illinois.

Along with her husband of 42 years, Harold Redman, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Kenneth George, and Hubert George; nephew Brad Parish, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Fortag and James “LaVerne” Crane.

Majorie worked for Kas Potato Chip Factory, and Hollywood Brands Candy Factory, both in Centralia, retiring in 1982. She was a member of AARP. Marjorie was of the Methodist faith. She had a heart for animals and enjoyed the companionship of many treasured pets over the years. Majorie’s favorite memories were of times spent with her family.

Per Marjorie’s wishes, a private burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. Memorials may be made in Marjorie’s honor to the Humane Society and will be accepted for the family at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
