The Wamac Board of Alderman this week reviewed plans for Wamac Fest which will be held on Saturday, September 16th, from 3:00 to 11:30 pm in the Wamac City Park.

The board was told three bands will be featured this year, Tim Elmore and All American Music, Kenny Ray Productions, and Bob Bone and the Amigos.

The annual event will also include kids’ train and kids’ games, a cakewalk, inflatables, as well as Wamac Famous BBQ Pork Steaks, Brats, and Hotdogs.

Volunteers are being sought to bake cakes for the cakewalk. Cake mixes and icing donated by ConAgra can be picked up at Wamac City Hall.

Proceeds will go to improve the Wamac Park.

The board was told the BBQ Luncheon held last Friday raised $2,700 for the Wamac Fest.

The Wamac Park will benefit from an Eagle Scout project by Caden Dierkes. He will be building benches for the park. He will complete some fundraising projects to buy the materials since the Eagle Scout program does not allow the money to come from the city.
