A rural Salem man received second-degree burns to his feet after scalding water in a container fell from a stove where he was working at his home early Tuesday afternoon.
Salem Assistant Fire Chief Bill Fulton says the department was called to the Wes Hocking home in the 3200 block of Nation Road to set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter, but it was later decided to transport Hocking to the Salem Township Hospital Emergency Room for treatment.
The call came in at 1:46 Tuesday afternoon.
