A 28-year-old Centralia woman has been charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery in Marion County Court after allegedly stabbing a household member in the arm with a knife on Monday.
Judge Joshua Morrison set bond for Kaeleigh Pannell of South Sycamore at $10,000 and appointed a public defender to represent her.
In the probable cause statement, State’s Attorney Tim Hudspeth says a neighbor heard yelling and the mention of ‘stabbing’ and called police. No one answered the door, but police heard a faint ‘help’ multiple times and were able to gain entry. They found a man who told them ‘she stabbed me’ and holding up his bleeding wrist.
Pannell told police she had come back to the apartment to pick up her dog and when she was preparing to leave, the alleged victim told her she wasn’t going anywhere and grabbed her. She reportedly picked up the knife and accidentally stabbed him. The alleged victim did not require hospital treatment.
